The Quest for XP – Battlefield 3: Preparing the Battlefield: 1st A M-COM on Damavand Peak attack.

With this series we will be looking at utilizing the tools of the both the Support and Engineer class.

Both these classes have the ability to demolish structures by using the C4 in the case of Support and the RPG/SMAW for the Engineer. This technique can be used in Attack and Defence  to give you and your team the edge.

By removing structures you can create new paths as you can see at 27 seconds and 35 seconds of the video. Creating these paths gives you more access points and also takes away the oppositions ability to create kill zones at choke points.

The set up at Damavand allows this technique at multiple points and we will be highlighting these in future.

The second part of the video shows creating a defensible position to cover the M-Com once it has been armed.  At 50 seconds of the video you can see a wall of the building being destroyed which then gives you an excellent line of sight to your target. The other benefit of this position is that you are protected on two sides by walls making it harder for you to be killed. You also have exits routes if the opposition throw a grenade into the building

Again as with all tips this is one of many routes/cover points for this M-COM. Just remember to keep your head on a swivel and your ears open in case of a counter attack.

See you 0n the battlefield
