Having been a gamer for over 30 years, my tastes can be eclectic. I do like a good franchise and you will regularly catch me on a multi-player game of Assassin’s Creed. I also have a panchant for becoming absorbed in to a good story, especially is the characters are well written and the acting cuts the mustard. I’m currently addicted to Zen Pinball 2 on my PSVita, which I play daily.

I’m also a self-confessed Trophywhore but not the most accomplished of the JoypadAndMe staff and Sony Fanboy.

My first gaming experience was getting a Commadore Plus 4 when I was five years old. I’ve since had a Sega Master System, Sega Mega Drive, Commadore Amiga 500+, PlayStation,  PlayStation 2 and a PlayStation Portable, PlayStation 3, Xperia Play.

Currently you’ll regularly find me playing on either my PS3 or PS4 in 7.1 surround or on my PS Vita whilst the missus is taking over the TV. I’m fairly active on to Twittter and try to keep up to date with all the gaming news, when not playing.

I entered a competition to win a Japanese PS3 launch machine from PSM3  (a now closed magazine in the UK). I set myself the challenge of turning in to Jin from Tekken. It was a painful process that you can see below

Sadly I didn’t win but did come third and appeared in the magazine.

I started writing about games over a decade ago but sadly that blog appears to now be dead. I’m in the process of trying to resurrect it.

I previously made contributions to the now sadly defunct to Techfixation which I enjoyed and it lead to be be asked to join JoypadAndMe in March of 2013.

Whilst being here I’ve nervously joined the podcasting team from Episode 24 and regularly research / set up the agendas for the podcasts, arrange interviews, and liaise with Video games developers for review copies.

I took part in 2013 Extra Life Event that was held at A & J’s Cafe in Liverpool, raising a huge amount of money for the charity.

As well as written many reviews, articles, attended Hands on Previews. My proudest moment as part of the great JoypadAndMe Team was interview David Hayter for our special Metal Gear Solid JAMchunk

Favourite gaming memories:

Master System: Unboxing my new games system and hearing the Michael Jackson’s Smooth Criminal playing as the menu for Moonwalker came up.

Mega Drive:1st playing Sonic the Hedgehog. I still enjoy the sound of collecting rings ;- D
I also adored the Streets of Rage games and Ecco the Dolphin.

Amiga: I know very few people of my age who haven’t had an addiction to Lemmings at some point. I also used to play an excessive amount of Microprose F1 GP. My favorite game from that time was a copy of Beneath a Steel Sky that was given to me by the staff at Revolution Software, when they were based in my home city.

PlayStation: WipEout 2097 I loved the speed and the music. First playing Resident Evil 2 and being scared out of my wits by dogs and Lickers fairly early in to the game. My personal favourite was Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver a beautiful game with an awesome story.

PlayStation 2: Multiplayer marathons on TimeSplitters. SSX: Tricky and Burnout 2: Point of Impact. Getting my hands on a copy of Metal Gears Solid 2 a day before release.

PSP: LocoRoco fun and colourful platformer with a mental sound track. Patapon for being a bizarre rhythm action RPG. Playing Metal Gear Ac!d plugged into the mains because I was having an epic session. 8 hours solid I think.
